Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia in the elderly population, is characterised by cognitive, functional and behavioural decline, which increases safety risks, reduces comfort and impairs quality of life. Person-centred nursing care is essential for providing comprehensive and person-centred care. Objective: To analyse the existing evidence on nursing care for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease, focusing on safety, comfort and quality of life. Methodology: A systematic review following the PRISMA 2020 statement, with searches conducted in PubMed, Scopus, SciELO, LILACS, Dialnet, Web of Science, CINAHL and the Cochrane Library between January 2022 and July 2026; a total of 12 articles were selected. Results: The evidence obtained shows that fall prevention, environmental adaptation and the safe management of medication enhance safety; non-pharmacological therapies (cognitive stimulation, music therapy, art therapy) improve comfort by reducing agitation and anxiety; nursing programmes improve the identification and treatment of pain, for both patients and carers, thereby enhancing quality of life. Conclusions: Person-centred nursing care is effective in improving safety, comfort and quality of life. Furthermore, the implementation of standardised protocols and ongoing training for nursing staff is recommended in order to provide comprehensive, safe and person-centred care.
