dc.descriptionMixed and oily skin requires cleansing products capable of controlling excess sebum without compromising skin comfort. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a syndet facial cleansing gel formulated with niacinamide, calendula, and a combined blackberry and blueberry extract, with a pH of 5.5. A quantitative, applied, prospective, pre-experimental study with repeated measurements was conducted in 20 adults aged 19 to 45 years living in Riobamba. The gel was applied twice daily for 21 days. Facial shine, sebum retained on oil-absorbing paper, pore appearance, and skin dryness were assessed on days 0, 7, 14, and 21. The paired clinical analysis included 15 complete records, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used. At the end of the intervention, facial shine decreased by 87.2% and sebum production by 88.2% (p < 0.001). Pore appearance improved by 68.8% (p = 0.002), while skin dryness reached a final score of 0 (p = 0.016). Overall, 85% of participants achieved a favorable or acceptable outcome, 80% showed excellent or good tolerability, and median adherence was 100%. Overall satisfaction reached 4.66 out of 5. The gel demonstrated favorable, progressive, and statistically significant performance, together with high adherence, tolerability, and cosmetic acceptability.
dc.description.abstractLa piel mixta y grasa requiere productos de higiene capaces de controlar el exceso de sebo sin afectar el confort cutáneo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue elaborar y evaluar un gel limpiador facial tipo syndet, formulado con niacinamida, caléndula y extracto combinado de mora y arándano, con pH de 5,5. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, aplicado, prospectivo y preexperimental, con mediciones repetidas en 20 adultos de 19 a 45 años residentes en Riobamba. El gel se aplicó dos veces al día durante 21 días. El brillo facial, el sebo retenido en papel absorbente, la apariencia de los poros y la resequedad se evaluaron en los días 0, 7, 14 y 21. El análisis clínico pareado incluyó 15 registros completos y se utilizó la prueba de rangos con signo de Wilcoxon. Al finalizar la intervención, el brillo facial disminuyó un 87,2 % y la producción sebácea un 88,2 % (p < 0,001). La apariencia de los poros se redujo un 68,8 % (p = 0,002), mientras que la resequedad alcanzó una puntuación final de 0 (p = 0,016). El 85 % de los participantes obtuvo un resultado favorable o aceptable, el 80 % presentó tolerancia excelente o buena y la mediana de adherencia fue del 100 %. La satisfacción global alcanzó 4,66 sobre 5. Se concluye que el gel mostró un desempeño favorable, progresivo y estadísticamente significativo, acompañado de alta adherencia, tolerancia y aceptación cosmética.
