dc.descriptionResumen: El uso de las plantas desde tiempos inmemoriales ha sido de extrema importancia para los seres humanos, siendo aprovechadas para la alimentación, la medicina y la construcción de viviendas, entre otras utilidades. Las plantas de uso medicinal, permiten tratar múltiples enfermedades, el uso de productos fitoterapéuticos está tomando cada vez más fuerza, cada día son más los consumidores que buscan alternativas naturales, tanto para la prevención como para el tratamiento de las distintas enfermedades, que además no tengan efectos secundarios, que no posean la toxicidad de los medicamentos alopáticos y que su costo sea más conveniente. El orégano (Origanum vulgare) es una planta de cual se ha planteado que tiene propiedades curativas frente a los hongos; pensando en la utilidad de un producto natural, que por sus características inocuas puedan permitir el tratamiento de una enfermedad infecciosa de este tipo, se decidió realizar un estudio cuasi experimental y prospectivo con el objetivo de evaluar la actividad antifúngica de la pomada de orégano, para ello previamente se efectuó una investigación detallada de las características generales de esta planta, estableciendo sus bondades y propiedades terapéuticas, luego se formuló una pomada que fue aplicada diariamente, por dos veces al día, durante quince días, a cinco pacientes de diferentes edades y sexos, transcurrido este tiempo los pacientes fueron evaluados, comprobando que la pomada sí tiene actividad antifúngica en el pie de atleta; se pudo observar que la mayoría de los pacientes mostraron una mejoría significativa al final del tratamiento.
dc.description.abstractThe use of plants since time immemorial has been of extreme importance for human beings, being used for food, medicine and housing construction, among other utilities. Plants for medicinal use, allow to treat multiple diseases, the use of phytotherapeutic products is taking more and more strength, every day there are more consumers who are looking for natural alternatives, both for the prevention and for the treatment of different diseases, which also do not have side effects, which do not have the toxicity of allopathic drugs and that their cost is more convenient. Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is a plant that has been proposed to have healing properties against fungi; thinking about the usefulness of a natural product, which due to its innocuous characteristics may allow the treatment of an infectious disease of this type, it was decided to carry out a quasi-experimental and prospective study with the aim of evaluating the antifungal activity of the oregano ointment, for this a detailed investigation of the general characteristics of this plant was previously carried out, establishing its benefits and therapeutic properties, then an ointment was formulated that was applied daily, twice a day, for fifteen days, to five patients of different ages and sexes, after this time the patients were evaluated, verifying that the ointment does have antifungal activity in athlete's foot; it was observed that most patients showed significant improvement at the end of treatment.
