| dc.description | Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that mainly affects the central area of the face. It is characterized by persistent redness, increased skin sensitivity, and vascular alterations that can substantially impair patients’ quality of life. In recent years, there has been growing interest in the use of complementary topical treatments to help manage the signs and symptoms of this disorder. In this context, the aim of this scientific article was to assess the effectiveness of niacinamide and Centella asiatica in the management of rosacea, focusing on their anti-inflammatory, soothing, moisturizing, and skin barrier-repairing properties. The study was carried out through a literature review of scientific publications examining the use of these active ingredients in patients with rosacea. The analyzed evidence indicates that niacinamide helps reduce inflammation, decrease erythema, and strengthen the skin barrier, while Centella asiatica stands out for its regenerative, calming, and reparative effects, which contribute to alleviating irritation and improving the condition of sensitive skin. In conclusion, the combination of niacinamide and Centella asiatica represents a promising complementary topical alternative for managing rosacea. These ingredients can help reduce inflammation, improve hydration, restore the skin barrier, and support skin recovery. However, the current scientific evidence highlights the need for additional well-designed clinical studies to confirm their long-term efficacy and safety in patients with this condition. | |
